Two Day National Conference: Indian Geotechnical Society, Ludhiana Chapter in association with Department of Civil Engineering, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, is organising two day (15th and 16th Feb. 2013) National Conference on Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Aspects of Waste and their Utilization in infrastructure Projects (GGWUIP-2013). This conference is being supported by the national body of Indian Geotechnical Society and is expected to publish all the accepted paper of the Conference in a Proceeding with ISBN number from a reputed publishing house. R. Kerry Rowe Lecture: The ISSMGE and TC215 on Environmental Geotechnics have established the R. Kerry Rowe Lecture in recognition of Professor Rowe outstanding impact in the field of Environmental Geotechnics and excellence in scholarly achievements. The lecture is to be given at the opening plenary session of the Environmental Geotechnics Congress held every 4 years. The inaugural lecture is scheduled to be given at the 18th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering to be held in Paris, France, in September 2013 and at the 7th International Congress on Environmental Geotechnics to be held in Melbourne, Australia, in November 2014. Indian Geotechnical Journal: The publication of Indian Geotechnical Journal, IGJ, is currently handled by Springer India Limited, New Delhi. The volumes are available for all the IGS Main members after registering with the IGS main web site. www.igs.org.in

IGS Election 2012: The election of President and executive members of the society will be held during the months of August -November 2012. The formal notification will be issued on the 6th of August 2012 and the counting of votes will be on 16 November 2012. The details of the schedule can be read from the document 'Election Schedule'

IGS (Main) Membership rates: There is a revision in the membership rates of IGS Main effective from April 2012. The details are available in the document 'Membership Rates'.
