Geotechnology towards Global Standards

Indian Geotechnical Conference, IGC, an annual event since its inception in the early 60s, has been in the forefront of all the programmes organised by IGS. The conference attracts more than 400 delegates every year.

IGS Chennai Chapter conducted IGC 1983 at IIT Madras (Indian Institute of Technology, Madras), IGC 1996 at College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, and IGC 2006 at IIT Madras.

The chapter is proud to announce IGC 2016 again at IIT Madras during 15-17 December 2016. A pre-conference workshop is planned on 14 December 2016. The main theme of IGC 2016 is ‘Geotechnology towards Global Standards’ that has connotation of achieving, in the nearest future, the best possible standards in the design and practice of geotechnical engineering setting examples to the rest of the world.
