The chapter has now roughly one thousand members out of which more than 600 members are in the active mailing list. The main benefit of becoming member of the chapter is that you are a member of very prestigious society in India. We encourage you to become member of the IGS Chennai Chapter as well as a member of IGS Main body in New Delhi. This web site will provide you an idea about the chapter activities. If you are an engineer and has interest in geotechnical engineering activities you are eligible to become a member. Those residing in and around Chennai are most welcome to become a member. The membership form is available online and shall be submitted with necessary fee and an introduction signature from a registered member of the chapter.		Google Group
		The chapter has a Google group through which the mails related to lectures and seminars are sent to the members. The group is not restricted to the members alone since the main aim of the Google group is to reach more and more people. Those who are away from Chennai can become a member of the group by request. See the home page for this. Eventually we wish all the group members become members of the society

There are about 350 addresses not presently existing. The members must have moved out of the old address. We request all the members to keep us informed about your change of address so that the address list can be regularly updated. Please look for a marking 'LOST' that would indicate that we lost contact with the particular member. If some of his / her friends are having present address details, please provide it to the chapter or request the member to send his / her new address to the chapter.
